The Honorable Vincent Chhabria of the Northern District of California–the Judge overseeing the Roundup MultiDistrict Litigation (In re: Roundup Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 2741)–issued orders requiring every plaintiff to complete a plaintiff fact sheet (PFS) and setting the first trial in February 2019.

The PFS is a 14-page set of questions that every plaintiff must complete. It covers each person’s past medical history, exposure to Roundup (or its active ingredient glyphosate), and the resulting medical condition. People who reside in California or filed their lawsuit in California must complete the PFS by November 28, 2018. Plaintiffs who are not from California but who filed their case already have until January 23, 2019 to complete and submit the PFS. O’Brien Law will work with its clients to assemble the information and complete each PFS.

In a separate Order, the Court also set the first trial for February 25, 2019. That initial trial will be one of four cases that originated in the Northern District of California (San Francisco) area. A second trial is also tentatively scheduled for May 2019. These trials will represent the first cases tried within the MDL, although one prior case was tried in another court and resulted in a significant verdict for the man who developed cancer because of his exposure to Roundup.
